Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has recently released the official notification regarding
the selection test for the Class 6th Navodaya Admission in the year 2024-25. As per the official notification,
students willing to take admission into Navodaya, have to give a
selection test known as JNVST. Students are required to submit their
applications for the Navodaya selection test for Assam Navodaya Admission 2024-25 through the official website of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) from
19th June 2023 to 10th August 2023.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam Navodaya Admission 2023
Every year, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti holds a test to select deserving students for admission into Class 6th. The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), which is supported by the Government of India, provides a range of facilities to talented and underprivileged students, helping them achieve their dreams. Currently, JNV is accepting applications for the Class 6th Navodaya selection test for Assam Navodaya Admission 2024-25 through its official online application portal. If you fulfill the eligibility criteria and have a desire to study at JNV, you are invited to submit your application online on the official portal.

| Benefits |
| The medium of instruction in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language up to Class VIII and thereafter English for Mathematics and Science and Hindi for Social Science. |
| Students of the JNVs appear for board examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education. |
| While education in the schools is free including board & lodging, uniform, and textbooks, a sum of Rs. 600/- per month is collected only from the students of Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi. |
| However, students belonging to SC/ST categories, all Girls students, and students whose family income is below the poverty line (BPL) are exempted. |
| In respect of wards of Government employees other than exempted category (Students of classes VI to VIII, all SC/ST & Girl students, and wards of BPL families) Vikas Nidhi will be charged @Rs.1500/- per month or actual children education allowance received by the parent per month whichever is less. |
| However, VVN shall not be less than Rs.600/- per student per month. |
Eligibility Criteria for Assam Navodaya Admission 2023
| Admission Criteria |
| Geolocation: The candidate must reside in the same district as the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya(JNV). |
| Age Limit: Born between 01-05-2012 and 31-07-2014 (inclusive). This will apply to candidates of all categories. |
| Previous Admission: A candidate who has not been promoted and admitted to Class-V before 31st July 2023 is not eligible to apply. |
| Educational Qualification: Studying in Class-V during the academic session 2022-23 in a recognized school in the same district. |
| No. of Attempts: Only one attempt is allowed for the selection test. |
| Rural Quota: At least 75% of seats are reserved for candidates from rural areas. |
